Shivaun is a fully qualified osteopath and a registered member of the General Osteopathic Council (UK) and the Osteopathic Council of Ireland.

Shivaun treats patients at the BodyMed clinic in Clontarf and on Wednesday on Baggot Street.  She is passionate about helping patients find solutions to their health problems. She 

She is a fluent French speaker, a skier, enjoys dancing, gardening and trying out new things for herself and her patients. When she is not studying or on post-graduate training courses. 

She treats musculoskeletal disorders and pain relating to work, sports and injuries.  Here treatment sessions are individualised to each patient. She provides diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

Some of the conditions she treats are:
  • back pain,
  • neck and shoulder pain,
  • postural problems,
  • sporting injuries,
  • muscle and joint deterioration,
  • foot and ankle pain,
  • restricted mobility,
  • occupational ill-health,
  • cervicogenic headaches and
  • stress relief and relaxation

Along with osteopathic treatment, Shivaun gives patients information and exercises to help speed up recovery.

She studied osteopathy for 5 years at undergraduate level at the British School of Osteopathy, London and qualified with a Masters degree in Osteopathy in 2010.  During her undergraduate studies, Shivaun undertook additional training in specialist clinics for

  • pregnant women,
  • children and
  • people with sports injuries.

She also worked in several community clinics around London:

  • in a retirement centre treating elderly residents;
  • in a busy East London GP surgery;
  • in a hospital day centre for patients with HIV;
  • a drop-in centre for the homeless and
  • an early years scheme for parents and children.

She continues to improve her skills and deepen her knowledge of Osteopathy, manual medicine and health with regular annual post-graduate training in:

  • Cranial Osteopathy,
  • Visceral Manipulation
  • and Classical Osteopathy.

She has completed courses in:

  • pregnancy care,
  • breathing retraining,
  • post-breast cancer surgery rehabilitation,
  • sports massage
  • and rehabilitation.
Shivaun started working as a sports massage therapist in Crawley, UK in 2007.  In the same year, she started treating patients at the British School of Osteopathy undergraduate clinic under the supervision of some of the most experienced osteopaths in the UK .

Following graduation in 2010, she started working with Osteopath Joanne Barber at the Nature’s Medicine Osteopathic and Complementary Health clinics in Turners Hill and Crawley Down, West Sussex, UK.
In the 2011,  she came to Dublin to locum for Osteopath Alexander Gibbs and get a feel for working back in Ireland.  She enjoyed the experience so much that she started commuting weekly between the UK and Dublin.  She made the move back to Dublin in 2012 with her family and continued to work at the Winton Practice in Rathgar.
Shivaun set up her own practice in January 2014 and shares her working week between Churchtown and her home practice in Marino.
Shivaun is a fully-qualified Osteopath and is registered with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland and the General Osteopathic Council (UK).
Shivaun has particular interest are asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and breathing disorders and how they relate to the musculoskeletal system.
